A few faces from Padang (Sumatra) in Indonesia, a country which I certainly want to go back to someday...

It has been years since I was there for the last time, but I've always felt Amsterdam is a city like no other and a very special favorite destination. Last week I was able to confirm that feeling once again, after spending 5 days strolling around the small streets and lovely canals that give Amsterdam its special character... Fantastic food from all corners of the world, bikes everywhere and cozy cafés overlooking the tranquil canal waters and the old buildings that are also very unique. It felt wonderful to sit and watch life happening around me, with no pre-scheduled meetings or places to be. Life can be that simple, even if for a few days only...

I have just spent one week between Boston and NY, visiting colleges with my family and also putting the indescribable Leica M9, a camera that is simply too good to put into words. One lens only, the 35mm/2 Summicron, and after these first test shots with the Leica, all I can say is that there's nothing that compares to it... The week was simply fantastic!
