After my first visit to Tavarua last year, I just couldn't wait to be back to the most incredible island a surfer/photographer can wish for... The waves were simply perfect - and absolutely huge for a couple of days, something every single person from our Brazilian group was just anxious to witness. Here are a few samples of that wonderful week, I hope you will enjoy seeing them as much as I enjoyed making the images!

I'm still in Fiji, but a few hours away of boarding the plane to LA, and then home again by Monday. It was an unbelievable week of sun, fun, old and new friends - and lots and lots of waves in Tavarua. While I wait for my flight, I can't resist posting two images of the trip: an aerial view of the dream island that is Tavarua, as we were about to land; and a nice moment of my friend Rafael Mellin getting an unique view at Cloudbreak. More images to follow here on the blog, as soon as I get back to the studio!

I have to confess it is hard to let Fiji go... I'm back at the studio and we are getting more and more busy here at Lux, but Tavarua keeps flashing back in my mind, whenever I have two minutes free. So it's time to share this passion with our readers/viewers once again, and I sincerely hope you will forgive me for posting so many wave photos. Believe me, they are even prettier "in person"...

A different post on the blog, for a different type of photo session... To have had the privilege to spend one week in Tavarua, one of the world's best surfing spots, was truly something special, and I couldn't be more thrilled about the whole experience. Tavarua is a small, tiny island off the west coast of Fiji's main island, and is home to Cloudbreak, an incredible reef break that is considered paradise by all respected surfers around the world. It was one week of fun, new friends and simply unforgettable memories. I'll be back!
One more thing before I leave you with the photos: many thanks to my fellow japanese photographer Kenyu Takahashi for the last shot: I just had to have one of mine as well...
